Laboratory Assistant

Reed Scientific are recruiting for a Laboratory Operations Assistant to support a busy scientific facility based at Milton Park. This is a hands-on role supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of laboratories and research areas. You'll work closely with laboratory, facilities and scientific teams to help maintain a safe, compliant and efficient working environment, ensuring researchers and technicians have everything they need to carry out their work effectively.

Previous temporary staff have progressed into technician-level opportunities within the business.

Key Responsibilities Supporting the daily operation of laboratory and research facilities Preparing, organising and maintaining laboratory equipment and consumables Assisting with laboratory inventory and stock management Supporting laboratory housekeeping and maintaining operational standards across scientific work spaces Coordinating waste management and disposal processes in line with established procedures Assisting with environmental monitoring and facility checks Supporting health & safety and compliance activities within the laboratory environment Working with scientific and facilities teams to ensure laboratories remain organised, compliant and operational at all times About You Reliable, proactive and able to work independently Comfortable working in a practical, hands-on environment Strong attention to detail and organisational skills Able to prioritise tasks and manage workload effectively Previous experience within a laboratory, scientific, manufacturing, GMP, facilities or technical environment would be advantageous Science graduates looking to gain experience within a laboratory environment are encouraged to apply Additional Information This role requires an early start and is fully site-based at Milton Park.

Due to the start times and limited public transport availability during some shifts, applicants should be able to reliably commute to site throughout the assignment. This position would therefore be particularly suitable for candidates based within a reasonable daily commuting distance of Milton Park.
