Our client is a well-established coatings and corrosion industry. organisation based in Southeast London. They currently have an immediate opportunity for a Science graduate with product development experience to join their Product Development team. This role would suit a talented and experienced chemist with a strong track record in product development and formulation. The successful candidate will hold a BSc in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related discipline, together with at least 1–2 years of commercial product development experience, ideally within the coatings, adhesives, or a related industry
The Role Includes:
Developing and formulating new and innovative products. Managing product development projects within the R&D team. Evaluating raw materials for use in product formulations. Liaising with suppliers, customers, and third-party organisations. Preparing and conducting pre-production trials. Working independently and taking initiative, while also collaborating effectively with other members of the team. Supporting continuous improvement of existing products and formulations. Qualifications and
Experience:
Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related discipline. At least 1–2 years of relevant commercial experience in product development. Experience in chemical formulation and project management. Experience working within a manufacturing environment, with a good understanding of technical and production processes. Good understanding of laboratory equipment and experience working in accordance with GMP and GLP procedures. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a methodical and structured approach.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects effectively. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence and ability to build effective relationships with clients, suppliers, and colleagues. The successful candidate will be a proactive and commercially focused chemist with a passion for product development, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
