Social Worker Senior Practitioner

We are looking for a dedicated Social Worker or Senior Practitioner to join Family Support & Safeguarding Services in Oxfordshire. This is a Full time Role.

• Salary (Social Worker): £41,771 - £45,091 per annum
• Salary (Senior Practitioner): £46,142 - £49,282 per annum

You should have at least one year post-qualifying experience and will need experience working in long term casework, including CIN, Child Protection, and Care Proceedings.

A full valid driver’s licence is essential. Access to a car or plan to have one available within 2 weeks of any proposed start date.

You should reside or be willing to relocate to within 1 hour of an office location.

International Social Workers who reside and work for a UK-based Local Authority can be offered sponsorship, subject to a successful interview.

As a qualified experienced Social Worker, you will possess good working knowledge of services relevant to children, young people, families, carers, groups, and partner agencies. To succeed in this role, you will have a good understanding of safeguarding, relevant legislation, guidance, policy and procedures, and values and principles of FSS.

It will be hugely beneficial for you to have working knowledge of Motivational Interviewing and the cycle of change and their application in social work with children and families.

Your supportive and energised nature will also help you chair meetings and proactively engage with partner agencies.

It is essential that you can travel to visit clients and attend meetings over a wide area and at short notice.

• Provide professional social work to a caseload of children, young people, and families, appropriate to experience and capabilities, ensuring their views are heard.
• Ensure the highest of professional standards and good overall knowledge of relevant law, legislation, and practice in line with the values and principles of FSS.
• Ensure provision of good quality services which integrate government and local guidance and initiatives including, Children Acts 1989 & 2004, Working Together, local Child Protection and Looked After Children procedures, and the DoH, Assessment Framework 2000.
• Provide an efficient and effective service to children, young people, and their families, ensuring that the needs of the children and their parents/carers are professionally assessed, and that relevant interventions are provided where needed, in a timely way.
• Work with families using the FSS Workbook modules, and a strengths-based approach.
• Prepare and submit written reports as and when required, including child protection conference reports and legal reports for care proceedings.
• Attend conferences, reviews and court as required for each case presenting plans clearly, with professionalism and integrity.
• Ensure the Assistant /Team Manager is kept fully appraised of significant information about allocated families, seeking advice as and when necessary.

• CSW/CQSW/DipSW/BA/MA in Social Work
• Proven post qualifying experience in working with children's services
• Current Social Worker England registration
