As a Housing First Caseworker at Beam, you will have the opportunity to transform the lives of disadvantaged people by helping them transition into their own long‑term housing. You’ll be at the forefront of our Housing First programme in Oxford
, specifically designed to support those whose needs aren’t met by traditional homelessness services.

You’ll take on a leading role supporting a small, dedicated caseload of members, ensuring they successfully sustain stable housing provided by the Council
. This is a high‑impact, deeply relational role where you’ll provide a wide range of member‑led support – from guiding someone through the practicalities of moving into a new home to boosting their autonomy through personalised coaching and skill development. By connecting members with their community and essential support services, you’ll help them build lasting confidence and independence

This role requires you to attend

You’ll be
  • Delivering Intensive Housing Support – Providing direct, person‑centred assistance to a small caseload. This includes helping members move into and maintain their homes, navigating tenancy responsibilities, and crafting personalised action plans to reach their unique goals.

  • Acting as a Navigator and Advocate – Playing a critical role in coordinating multiple services. You’ll work alongside drug and alcohol services, housing officers, and healthcare providers, advocating for your members to ensure they have a comprehensive support network.

  • Building Trust and Independence – Forging deep, meaningful relationships with members who have often experienced long‑term trauma. You’ll use your excellent casework skills to build back their trust in systems and support them in engaging with their local community.

  • Harnessing Technology for Impact – Using Beam’s AI‑powered technology and G‑Suite to increase your efficiency. As homelessness rises, you’ll learn to leverage these tools to streamline your casework and ultimately provide better, faster support to your members.

  • Creative Problem‑Solving – Wearing your "problem‑solving hat" to overcome unique barriers. Since Housing First members often face complex challenges, you’ll regularly research and find creative, non‑traditional ways to help them achieve stability.

  • Driving Measurable Progress – Working towards targets focused on housing retention and member wellbeing, ensuring we deliver a tailored and lasting impact in the lives of our members.

You are
  • Experienced with Complex Needs – You have a background in rough sleeping outreach, drug and alcohol services, or a similar frontline role. You understand the Housing First model and how to apply trauma‑informed care in practice.

  • Compassionate and Humble – You have deep empathy for people in tough situations and understand that trauma can play out in unexpected ways. You’re someone who sticks with your members through their ups and downs.

  • Determined and Resilient – You’re an "ideas person" who is energised by hard challenges. You understand that changing lives isn't easy, and you have the grit to find new…
