Homeless Prevention Coach

Homeless Prevention Coach Oldham and Rochdale (Greater Manchester) Permanent £27,713.92 to £29,435.12 per annum Full time - 37 hours per week Our client Morgan Hunt is working with a charity that provides support to young people and families facing challenges related to housing, substance misuse and mental health. They provide a range of support including one to one counselling and group work to whole family interventions and advocacy with all services being trauma - informed, compassionate and confidential.

We are recruiting a Homeless Prevention Coach to cover Oldham and Rochdale (Greater Manchester) on a permanent basis. As a Homeless Prevention Coach, you will play a vital part in supporting young people at risk of experiencing homelessness across the borough. You will help to prevent homelessness and support people to create self - determined outcomes that will lead to sustained positive change through the creation of support plans, innovative interventions and a coaching style approach.

The role Support an allocated caseload of young people through individually tailored support plans focusing on outcomes in accordance with contractual KPI's. Work holistically to deliver wrap around support to young people within the community and their own tenancies. Complete assessment of referrals for the service understand eligibility for the service. Maintain accurate, up to date records on a case management system against support plans and outcomes.

Liaise with local specialist services to facilitate access to support including locally based offers, Criminal Justice services, health services, employment and training agencies. Build relationships with landlords, housing agencies and local housing teams to support young people to stabilise / access long term accommodation. Ensure that individuals understand financial management in preparation for independent living, including focus on rent payment and budget creation.

The candidate An understanding of or a commitment to working in a strength-based trauma-informed way. Ability and commitment to working with vulnerable young people and young adults with complex needs. Demonstrable experience of managing a caseload within a relatable field e.g. homelessness, benefits advice, youth work or housing. Experience and understanding of safeguarding requirements and procedures and responding accordingly. Self - motivated with the ability to prioritise and work independently in a busy environment as well as contributing effectively as part of a wider team dynamic.

The ability to work effectively with partner agencies and develop contacts and networks across a wide range of local services.
