About the service

The Young Peoples Supported Accommodation service (YPSA) provides supported accommodation to young people (16-25 years), who are facing homelessness in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

The impact you will have

As a Youth Support Worker, you will build positive relationships with young people aged 16-25, providing practical and emotional support to help them develop the skills, confidence, and resilience needed to live independently. Working in a person-centred way, you will create a safe and supportive environment where young people feel valued, respected, and empowered to achieve their goals.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting young people to develop independent living skills, including budgeting, cooking, maintaining accommodation, education, training, and employment.
• Building trusting relationships and acting as a positive role model, helping young people overcome challenges and achieve positive outcomes.
• Providing practical and emotional support, advocacy, and guidance tailored to individual needs.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies to ensure young people receive the support they need.
• Contributing to support planning, risk management, safeguarding, and maintaining accurate case records.

Contract details

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 22.5 hours per week, across 3 days.

Salary: £16,451 - £17,125 per annum ,pro rata, (FTE 37.5 hours Salary: £27,418 - £28,541) per annum

About you.

We're looking for someone who is passionate about supporting young people to overcome challenges and achieve their goals. You'll have experience of working with young people aged 18-25, or with individuals experiencing mental health challenges, substance misuse, or other complex support needs, and be committed to delivering person-centred support that makes a real difference.

You'll bring:

• Experience of supporting young people or individuals with complex support needs.
• The ability to build positive, professional relationships and motivate people to achieve their goals.
• Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records, support plans, and risk assessments.
• A non-judgemental, resilient, and positive approach, with a genuine commitment to helping young people reach their full potential.
• Basic IT skills, including the use of email and Microsoft Office applications.
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, as the role involves supporting young people across Oxfordshire. Mileage expenses are paid.

As part of the role, you will participate in our on-call rota, providing out-of-hours support when required.…
