Job Overview

We are looking for a software engineer to design, develop, test, and deploy cloud‑hosted applications for an innovative peer‑review system. This role involves working in an Agile team and contributing to architectural decisions, engineering practices, and the delivery pipeline.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy applications in a cloud‑hosted distributed system.
  • Contribute to architectural discussions and decisions to ensure stability, scalability, and performance.
  • Identify and implement improvements to engineering practices and the delivery pipeline to increase quality and speed.
  • Collaborate with a cross‑functional Agile team (engineering, product, QA, Dev Ops) to deliver positive business outcomes.
  • Work with business stakeholders to clarify requirements, iterate on feedback, and deliver user‑focused solutions in a fast‑moving environment.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in Java, JavaScript/Type Script, and a modern framework such as React or Angular.
  • Experience with SQL and willingness to learn other databases.
  • Version control experience (Git). Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with modern IDEs (IntelliJ, VSCode) and refactoring tools.
  • Test‑driven development experience and familiarity with mocking libraries (Jest, Mockito).
  • Knowledge of Agile practices (Scrum, Kanban) and collaborative documentation tools (Jira, Confluence).
  • Open to improving team practices and learning new technologies, including AI solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively.
