An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join a growing engineering team developing advanced software solutions for next-generation space missions.

This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, mission-critical systems within the space sector, contributing to the design, development and maintenance of high-quality software platforms that support critical operational capabilities.

We are seeking a talented software engineer with strong full stack development experience and a background in developing reliable software solutions within demanding environments such as space, defence, aerospace, telecommunications, automotive or other safety-critical industries.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer, you will:

Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services using modern programming languages.
Architect and develop responsive, user-focused frontend applications using modern frameworks.
Design, manage and optimise databases to ensure performance, reliability and data integrity.
Build and maintain containerised applications using technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines to support efficient software delivery.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to define, design and deliver new capabilities.
Troubleshoot complex software issues across the full technology stack.
Contribute to Agile development practices, including sprint planning, stand-ups and retrospectives.
Support continuous improvement of software engineering processes, tools and practices.
Essential Experience

The successful candidate will have:

A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
5+ years’ experience developing software for mission-critical or high-reliability applications.
Strong full stack software development experience.
Extensive object-oriented programming experience using languages such as Java, Python or C++.
Experience developing modern frontend applications using frameworks such as React.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
Technical Skills

Strong experience in several of the following areas is highly desirable:

Containerisation technologies including Docker, Kubernetes and Docker Compose.
CI/CD tools such as Git Lab CI or Git Hub Actions.
SQL databases and data management.
Git and modern version control workflows.
Cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
Software security best practices.
Space communication standards such as CCSDS or ECSS protocols.
Ground segment software systems.
Space data standards such as SCOS-2000 or XTCE.
