Summary
Penn's Grove Middle School is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Track and Field Coaches to join our athletic program. The ideal candidates will have a passion for developing young athletes and fostering a positive team environment. Coaches will be responsible for teaching fundamental skills, promoting teamwork, and encouraging personal growth in student‑athletes. This is an excellent opportunity to inspire middle school students and help them reach their full potential in track and field.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement training plans that focus on skill development, fitness, and competition readiness.
- Conduct regular practices, ensuring all athletes receive adequate instruction and support.
- Teach proper techniques for various track and field events, including sprints, distance running, jumps, and throws.
- Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and a positive attitude among athletes.
- Monitor and evaluate athlete performance, providing constructive feedback for improvement.
- Assist in organizing and supervising track meets and competitions, including logistics and travel arrangements.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding schedules, expectations, and progress.
- Foster a safe and inclusive environment for all participants, addressing any issues of bullying or conflict.
- Attend coaching clinics and workshops to stay current with best practices and trends in track and field coaching.
- Collaborate with other coaches and staff to promote a comprehensive athletic program within the school.
- Previous coaching experience in track and field or a related sport, preferably at the middle school level.
- Strong knowledge of track and field techniques, rules, and strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other coaches, staff, and parents.
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
- Ability to commit to the entire season, including practices, meets, and team events.
- A positive attitude and a commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive team culture.
- High school diploma required; college degree in physical education, sports management, or a related field preferred.
