Materials Coordinator

Reporting to the Materials Manager, the successful candidate requires good communication skills, a flexible approach to changing priorities and a willingness to support colleagues.

Key responsibilities:

• Processing ECNs
• Check stock levels and purchase orders and identify actions to be taken
• Communicate changes to internal stakeholders
• Identify components and assemblies requiring sub contract processing, using ERP system
• Liaise with Production and Stores to prepare components and assemblies
• Request quotations and raise purchase orders for sub contract processes, consolidating requirements to maintain cost effectiveness
• Arrange shipments to sub contract suppliers

Shipping

• Completion of jobs upon receipt of shipping route cards
• Management of incoming and outgoing shipments, both through courier and freight forwarders; including preparation of shipping documents and customs invoices, getting quotations for shipments and arranging the shipment
• Liaise with freight forwarders and couriers to clear imports through customs

Procurement

• Raise purchase orders on ERP system and send to suppliers
• Check order confirmations against requirements and expediting orders

Specific

Skills:

• Competence with Microsoft Office Word and Excel
• Background in manufacturing / engineering environment
• Ability to cope with changing priorities and work under pressure
• Experience with an ERP system
• Experience in procurement in an engineering environment
• Shipping experience
