Minibus Driver and Transport Coordinator

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable, organised, and proactive Minibus Driver & Transport Coordinator to oversee the smooth operation of Oxford High School’s transport services while driving a scheduled morning minibus route. The role is full time, term‑time, permanent, with a competitive salary of £24,000 gross per annum.

• Drive the school minibus on a scheduled morning route.
• Coordinate daily transport services, routes and schedules.
• Maintain accurate records of vetted drivers and transport documentation.
• Liaise with drivers, parents and external transport providers regarding services and queries.
• Arrange cover for driver absences to ensure continuity of service.
• Coordinate coach transport requirements for school trips and events.
• Manage unexpected transport issues and implement contingency arrangements when required.

• Carry out routine vehicle safety checks and report defects promptly.
• Ensure minibuses are clean, safe, fuelled and well maintained.
• Monitor vehicle equipment and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
• Support breakdown procedures and alternative transport arrangements where necessary.
• Maintain compliance with all driver safety and medical requirements.

• Complete and monitor journey check sheets, mileage logs and driver records.
• Ensure all drivers maintain accurate records and follow procedures.
• Complete MIDAS minibus driver training and refresher training every two years.

• Be organised, dependable and able to prioritise effectively.
• Have excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding and health & safety.
• Be confident dealing with operational issues calmly and efficiently.
• Hold a clean and appropriate driving licence (D1) for minibus driving.
