Class 1 HGV Driver

As a Class 1 HGV Driver, you will be an ambassador for Thames Water out on the road, ensuring our values are upheld and providing first‑class customer service.

You will work as part of the Logistics Delivery team, operating a fleet of potable water tankers to support both reactive and planned work. Responsibilities include taking water samples before loading and discharging, following all processes and procedures, and operating HGV 1, HGV 2 (manual and automatic gearboxes), and support vehicles such as welfare vans.

• Position based at Oxford STW.
• Full training and an excellent benefits package.

• 38.5 hours per week – 4 on, 4 off (Days & Nights) – £42,435 per annum
• 38.5 hours per week – 4 on, 4 off (Monday to Sunday Day shifts) – £37,337 per annum

• Experience as a Class 1 HGV Driver.
• Willingness to work a rotational shift pattern, including days and nights.
• No more than 6 penalty points and no DR or IN convictions on your licence.
• A full driver CPC and a valid Driver Tachograph card.
• Knowledge of Transport Law and the Road Traffic Act.
• Working knowledge of Driver’s Hours rules and Working Time regulations.
