Hematology​/Oncology Physician

Outpatient Chemotherapy & Infusion Center Heme/Onc Locums Opportunity

This role is fully outpatient, providing chemotherapy and infusion services as a solo physician. A midlevel provider supports patient flow, orders, and follow-ups.
No inpatient oncology services and no hospital consults required. Remote call only, with ER/hospitalist support for any admissions.

• Coverage Needed: Dec 1 21 (more dates expected in 2026)

• Hours: Mon Thurs, 7:30 AM 5:30 PM with night call

• Fri Sun: 24-hr remote call coverage

• Location: Oxnard, CA (Outpatient clinic)

• Setting: Chemotherapy/Infusion Center

• FTE: 1.0

• Duties: Diagnosis, staging, precision medicine, symptom management, MD oversight of clinic + infusion center

• Infusion Center Services: Chemo, immunotherapy, transfusions, hormone therapy, antibiotics, RA injections, phlebotomies

• Required Procedures: None

• EMR: iKnowMed (clinic), Cerner (infusion)

• Clinic RN (1), MAs (2)

• Front office clerks (2)

• Quality analyst/billing (1)

• Infusion RNs (3)

• Long-term NP (M F 8
  5), covers Friday infusions & occasional visits

• Average daily census: (MD sees 75% of visits)

• Current call volume: 5 calls/day

• Reason for coverage: Current locum approaching 1 year

• Board Certified or Board Eligible: Hematology & Oncology (preferred)

• Will consider candidates boarded in either Hematology or Oncology

• State license: Required

• Fellowship: Medical Oncology Required

• CA DEA, BLS, ACLS: Required

• Malpractice: Highly preferred

• Availability for name clear: Required

• Local candidates preferred (air travel not preferred)
