Project Engineer; infrastructure

Job Title : Project Engineer (Heavy Civil Construction / Infrastructure)

Location : Oxnard, CA

Position Type : Full-Time On-site

The Project Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise and support in the planning, design and execution of construction and industrial services projects. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful implementation of infrastructure projects. The Project Engineer must possess a strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction practices and project management. They are also required to adhere to safety standards and protocols.

• Assist in the development and implementation of project plans including scope, budget and schedule.
• Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations and assessments to evaluate project requirements and constraints.
• Prepare detailed engineering designs, specifications and drawings.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders including clients, contractors and regulatory authorities to ensure project requirements are met.
• Monitor and inspect construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, quality standards and safety regulations.
• Work closely with quality control manager to ensure strict guidelines are adhered to.

• Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance to access secured facilities including military bases.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field highly preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil construction or infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction practices and project management.
• Familiarity with relevant software and tools such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and project management software.
• Familiarity with relevant industry codes, standards and regulations.
• Proficiency in construction project management.
• Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices.
• Ability to effectively communicate complex engineering concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
• Ability to track submittals and complete RFIs, REAs, CORs, and CTCs.
• Experience with quality control tasks on a heavy civil construction site. Any quality-related certifications are a big plus.
• Experience working with USACE and/or on NAVFAC projects is a big plus.
