Tax Associate– Role Overview
As a Tax Associate you will receive full training and support from an expert team, while enjoying flexibility, growth opportunities, and attractive compensation.
Responsibilities- Conduct tax interviews with clients face‑to‑face, through video, phone, chat, or email.
- Prepare complete and accurate tax returns.
- Generate business growth and client retention through additional products and services.
- Provide clients with IRS support.
- Support office priorities via teamwork and collaboration.
- Continuously grow your tax expertise.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
- Previous experience in a customer‑service or retail environment.
- Experience working in a fast‑paced, supportive setting.
- Availability to work a minimum of 25–35 hours weekly during tax season and up to 40 hours during peak weeks.
- Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course.
- Comfort working with virtual tools — video, phone, and chat.
- Strong communication skills in person, phone, and writing.
- Met all other IRS and state requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent as minimum (higher preferred).

Pay Range$11.00 – $27.00 per hour (local minimum wage laws apply). Payment may include incentive compensation or short‑term incentive plans based on performance. Successful candidates may enroll themselves and eligible dependents in medical, retirement, and discount programs per company policy.
