The General Manager reports to the District Sales Manager and is responsible for driving sales, improving processes, and building a high-performing leadership team.
Responsibilities
• Hire, train, schedule, and supervise staff members, including Assistant General Managers and Fitness Consultants.
• Communicate goals, expectations, and procedures to staff, ensuring clear understanding of roles.
• Set and achieve membership and revenue goals, track KPIs, and develop strategies to increase retention and new sign‑ups.
• Provide constructive feedback to staff on performance, highlighting strengths and areas for improvement.
• Ensure high‑quality customer service by addressing member concerns, managing inquiries, and resolving issues promptly.
• Engage members with a friendly, approachable manner, actively listening to their needs and providing helpful responses.
• Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, proper certifications, and safety protocols.
• Supervise facility maintenance and cleanliness, covering equipment, locker rooms, and common areas.
• Communicate calmly and clearly with staff and members during emergencies or disruptions, providing necessary instructions and updates.
Qualifications
• 2 years of sales management experience.
• 3‑4 years of customer service experience.
• Prior experience or strong interest in the fitness industry.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong relationship building and influencing skills at all levels.
• Detail orientation, systematic problem‑solving, and strong time‑management, organizational, and record‑keeping skills.
• Excellent MS Office skills.

Requirements
• Must successfully pass a background check.
• CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to work in a gym setting; move about club floors and rooms; communicate with employees, members, and the public.
• Ability to access and operate the Company computer system, including preparing documents and entering data.
• Ability to bend routinely and lift more than 40 lbs.

Pay Range
California Pay Range
$68,640—$115,004 USD
