Description The Forklift Maintenance Technician 1 is responsible for the inspection, repair and maintenance of forklifts, carts, tugs and other wheeled factory equipment. This role mainly covers preventative maintenance, light repairs and ensuring compliance with safety regulations to promote a safe and productive work environment.
Salary range: $21.00 - $33.00/Hr

- Equipment Inspection:
Conduct thorough inspections of forklifts and other vehicles to identify mechanical or electrical issues. Regularly assess brakes, tires, hydraulics, engine and safety systems. - Maintenance and Repair:
Perform scheduled maintenance tasks (oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, etc.) and troubleshoot issues such as wiring faults, hydraulic leaks, transmission problems, and more. - Preventative Maintenance:
Follow maintenance schedules to prevent breakdowns and extend the forklift fleet lifespan; adhere to manufacturer guidelines. - Documentation:
Maintain records of maintenance and repair activities, including work orders and inspection reports. Use SAP to track tasks. - Safety Compliance:
Ensure forklifts and equipment meet safety standards; regularly inspect safety features like lights, horns and alarms. - General:
Report damages to a supervisor; follow instructions and escalate issues impacting workflow or quality; demonstrate honesty and integrity and adhere to rules and policies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Maintain an active Haas Forklift certification.
- 3 years of forklift maintenance experience.
- Ability to work with little supervision.
- One-year certificate from college or technical school is required, plus related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience preferred.
- Language:
Read, write and comprehend English instructions and safety rules; able to present information in one-on-one or small group settings. - Mathematical
Skills:
Basic arithmetic; interpret graphs as needed. - Reasoning Ability:
Apply common sense to follow instructions and solve problems with several variables.
- Physical:
Sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, twisting, climbing, kneeling, crawling and reaching occur occasionally; lifting 0-60 lbs frequently; 61+ lbs never. - Hand Use:
Repetitive use, grasping, power grip, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling frequently. - Vision:
Close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and focus required. - Equipment & Environment:
Occasional computer use; work on production floor and in engineering lab; exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration, chemicals, fumes, outdoor conditions, electrical hazards.
