At Northrop Grumman, we're pushing the boundaries of innovation and excellence in our industry. We're looking for a skilled Production Planner 2 to join our team and play a critical role in supporting our production planning department. As a Production Planner 2, you'll work closely with design engineers, technicians, and quality control specialists to ensure the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and coordinate the sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations for specific product portions
- Analyze production schedules, material requirements, and inventory levels to optimize inventory storage systems
- Interface with various departments to resolve material receipt and distribution issues
- Make informed decisions on part categorization, kit shortages, and expedited kit integration
- Ensure inventory processes comply with quality standards and procedures
- Participate in continuous improvement practices, such as 5S, to enhance efficiency and productivity
- Manage projects using relevant software tools and track completion dates
- Support organizational metric goals and objectives
- High School diploma or equivalent, plus 2 years of additional education and / or related experience
- Experience with production planning and / or inventory operations within an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, such as Deltek Costpoint
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
