The Forklift Maintenance Technician 1 is responsible for the inspection, repair and maintenance of forklifts, carts, tugs and other wheeled factory equipment. This role focuses on preventative maintenance, light repairs and ensuring compliance with safety regulations to promote a safe and productive work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Equipment Inspection:
Conduct thorough inspections of forklifts and other vehicles to identify mechanical or electrical issues. Regularly assess brakes, tires, hydraulics, engine, and safety systems. - Maintenance and Repair:
Perform scheduled maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and general servicing. Execute repairs and troubleshoot faults such as faulty wiring, hydraulic leaks, and transmission problems. - Preventative Maintenance:
Follow maintenance schedules to prevent breakdowns and extend fleet lifespan, adhering to manufacturer guidelines and industry best practices. - Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including work orders, inspection reports, and parts replacements, using SAP. - Safety Compliance:
Ensure forklifts meet safety standards. Inspect lights, horns, and alarms regularly to guarantee safe operation. - Reporting:
Report any damage to a supervisor and follow instructions, procedures, and escalation processes. Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and adherence to rules, procedures, and policies.

Minimum Qualifications- Active Haas forklift certification.
- At least 3 years of forklift maintenance experience.
- Ability to work with little to no supervision.
- One‑year certificate from college or technical school.
- Additional 3–6 months of related experience, training, or equivalent education.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and comprehending instructions and safety rules in English.
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense and understanding for written, oral, and diagram instruction.
Physical activity includes frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending (neck and waist), and occasional twisting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, and reaching. Hand use involves repetitive use, simple grasping, power grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Lifting range: 0–10 lbs and 11–25 lbs frequently; 26–50 lbs frequently; >51 lbs never. The position requires regular computer use.
The work environment is moderate and occasionally loud, located in a general office or engineering lab, with occasional exposure to machining, moving mechanical parts, vibration, hazardous chemicals, and outdoor weather.
