The Opportunity
CACI seeks an energized and talented Broadcast Operator / Audio Visual Technician to contribute to a dynamic, forward‑leaning team supporting FEMA’s Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS) Technical Support Services.
This role is responsible for the technical operation of live and pre‑recorded engagements (e.g., demonstrations, podcasts, meetings, etc.), as well as the setup, operation, and maintenance of audio‑visual equipment for events, presentations, and daily operations.
The ideal candidate is a contributor and collaborator who can transform ideas into a proof of concept; an individual energized by diving into the art of the possible.

Responsibilities- Support FEMA IPAWS by providing expertise and skills that maintain and enhance services for emergency communications with the public through multiple pathways.
- Collaborate with public alert and warning content providers and technical experts spanning government and private sector partners.
- Ensure high‑quality audio and video output during engagements.
- Operate and monitor broadcast equipment, including cameras, audio mixers, video switchers, and other related technology.
- Set up, configure, and operate equipment for live broadcasts and recordings.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of broadcast and AV equipment.
- Manage and coordinate with external vendors and service providers as needed.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of broadcast and AV activities.
- Assist in training staff and interns on broadcast and AV operations.
- Stay current with emerging broadcast and AV technologies and industry trends.
- Provide technical support during live events, including troubleshooting and resolving issues in real‑time.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting, Communications, Media Technology, Electronics, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in broadcast operations or audio‑visual technology, preferably in a professional television or radio station, corporate, or event setting.

- 5+ years of experience in broadcast operations or audio‑visual technology, preferably in a professional television or radio station, corporate, or event management setting.

- 10+ years of experience in broadcast operations, manufacturing, or audio‑visual technology, preferably in a professional television or radio station, corporate, or event management setting.
In addition to the following:
- Knowledge of industry‑standard protocols and best practices.
- Familiarity with broadcast automation systems and software.
- Familiarity with presentation software (e.g., Microsoft PowerPoint, Keynote).
- Advanced knowledge of IP‑based broadcast systems and AV networks.
- Experience with live streaming platforms and technologies.
- Experience with live event production and remote AV support.
- Proficiency in operating broadcast equipment including cameras, audio mixers, and video switchers.
- Strong understanding of audio and video production techniques.
- Proficiency in operating a variety of AV equipment including projectors, microphones, speakers, video conferencing systems, and control systems.
- Strong understanding of audio and video cabling, signal distribution, and connectivity.
- Experience communicating and collaborating with executive‑level partners/customers.
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance as a condition of continued employment.
Desired:
- Certification in broadcast technology or audio‑visual technology or related field (e.g., CTS, CTS‑D, CTS‑I).
- Experience with AV control systems (e.g., AMX, Crestron).
- Experience with non‑linear editing systems (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro).
- Proficiency in using 2D and 3D design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Solid Works, Visio).
