The starting hourly rate is $17.25 USD per hour. The pay range is $17.25 USD – $25.90 USD per hour.

ALL ABOUT GENERAL MERCHANDISEExperts of store process and efficiency who enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is set, in‑stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise areas of the store. This team conducts inventory accuracy, merchandise set‑up and maintenance and pricing processes for all areas of the store.
Experts enable efficient delivery to our guests by supporting pick, pack and ship fulfillment work.
- Knowledge of guest service fundamentals and experience supporting a guest‑first culture across the store.
- Experience in retail business fundamentals including department sales trends, inventory replenishment, and process efficiency and improvement.
- Experience executing daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver on sales goals.
- Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
- Work independently and within a team.
- Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot.
- Attention to detail and follow multi‑step processes.
- Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast‑paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established time frames.
- Accurately handle cash register operations as needed.
- Climb up and down ladders; scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds without assistance.
- Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you complete daily tasks.
- Engage with guests in a welcoming way to help solve their specific needs.
- Thank guests and let them know we’re happy they chose to shop at Target.
- Execute daily tasks assigned by your leader to help achieve business priorities: receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing the backroom, arranging merchandise, and putting up promotional signs for GM areas.
- If certified, operate power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures.
- Execute processes including changing prices, merchandise set‑up and maintenance, and inventory accuracy as directed.
- Learn how operational procedures affect inventory management, store profitability, and product availability.
- Be knowledgeable about store resources, products, and services to solve issues for guests and improve their experience.
- Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
- Work in a safe manner at all times; comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training; report hazards and correct where possible.
- Support guest services such as back‑up cashier and digital fulfillment processes (picking and packing orders or delivering pickup orders to guests) while maintaining compliance with adult beverage laws.
- All other duties based on business needs.
