You will join an experienced and well-supported team working to maintain DHC Talking Therapies' excellent reputation within

Surrey. You will be providing high volume low intensity interventions and will have the opportunity to have a mix of virtual and on-sitework at our various hub locations, including face to face, video/telephone,workshops and computerised CBT appointments across your week.

You will receive high-level case management, clinical skills and group supervision, as well as regular line management, daily duty support and excellent CPD opportunities.

Main duties of the job

The main aim of the role is toassess and support clients with common mental health difficulties utilising theLow Intensity CBT model. You will receive high-quality and effective Clinical supervision in 1:1 and group formats, as well as regular line management, duty support and peer support.

Forthis role, you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • A qualification from an adult low-intensity coursefor PWPs, accredited by the BPS with accreditation from the BABCP orBPS.
  • Experience completing assessments and low-intensity interventions in a range of formats and for a wide variety of presenting problems within a primary care setting.
  • Skills to manage your own workload under pressure and meet agreed targets
  • An ability to engage in self-reflection when working with service users and in personal and professional development,including during supervision
  • A proactive work ethic and a willingness to adaptyour approach in a dynamic environment
  • Have a suitable and safe working environment towork from home part of the week.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with clients and colleagues

Job responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY

This is a role within the Talking Therapies service (previously IAPT). The post-holder will work within DHCTalking Therapies, providing high volume low-intensity interventions, whichwill be a range of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) based self-management interventions for clients with mild to moderate anxiety and depression.

The post holder will workwith people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities.

ROLEOF DEPARTMENT

The post holder is expected to work under pressure with the ability to manage and prioritise their workload and that of the department,providing and receiving information which may require tact, diplomacy and persuasive skills as there may be barriers to understanding, either due to acultural difference or knowledge of the process.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POST

1. CLINICAL

  • Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service and develop programmes ofcare packages as appropriate at Step 2
  • Assessand support people with common mental health conditions by undertaking patient-centred interviews, which identify areas where the person wishes to seechange and or recovery and make an accurate assessment of risk to self andothers.
  • Make decisions on the suitability of new referrals, adhering to the departments referral protocols, refer unsuitable clients on to the relevant service or backto the referral agent as necessary or step up the persons treatment to high-intensity psychological therapy.
  • Providea range of information and support for evidence based high-volume low-intensity psychological treatments. This may include guided self-help, computerised CBT,group work, psycho-education and information about pharmacological…
