The Dale Baptist Association is an association of 33 churches who are in basic agreement with the 2000 Baptist Faith & Message. The DBA is led by the Associational Missional Strategist (AMS) who works to connect churches to see leaders developed, churches strengthened, revitalized, planted, and kingdom ministry happen.
Job SummaryThe role of the AMS is highly relational. Gospel effectiveness stems from partnerships that are built from strong, authentic relationships. This role involves providing leadership to the staff and volunteers, equipping pastors and leaders, fostering collaboration, promoting mission initiatives, helping churches to work together for gospel advancement, strengthening existing churches, helping revitalize struggling churches, and planting new churches.
Job Responsibilities- Lead and encourage staff and volunteers to work with and for member churches of the DBA
- Build authentic relationships with pastors and churches of the Association in order to better serve and reach Dale County for Christ
- Build authentic relationships with churches and community leaders outside of the Association in order to better serve and reach Dale County for Christ
- Lead the DBA Executive Committee in conducting the administrative tasks, ministries, and missional work of the Association. Work closely with the moderator, and moderator‑elect in preparation for Executive Committee meetings, Semi‑Annual and Annual meetings.
- Provide leadership and give oversight to the Dale Baptist Ministry Center.
- Preach and teach as requested.
- Must possess the humble spirit and attitude of a missionary for a rural and suburban context
- Must have the experience and ability of working with a team
- Must have an experienced working knowledge of how partnership works among the entities of the Southern Baptist Convention on a state and national level
- Must have the ability to build strategic relationships connecting people to be on mission with Jesus
- A Bachelor of Theology degree or similar degree from a reputable bible college/seminary
- A minimum of ten‑fifteen years of ministry experience
- Must pass a criminal background check and credit check
- This is a full‑time salaried position with a package for mileage, conventions, health insurance, retirement, and paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in the lead pastor role
- Direct and first‑hand church planting experience
- Experience in missions outside of your local context
- Experience in working with racial diversity
- Experience in church revitalization
- A Master of Divinity degree or above from a reputable theological seminary
