After school Programs Educational Assistant

  • Position Type:
    Classroom Assistant/ Classroom Assistant
  • Monday through Friday - September 9, 2026 through May 21, 2027
    • 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • Compensation: $15.00 per hour, up to 20 hours per week
Requirements:
  • Must possess Educational Aide Permit with ESEA Endorsement through the Ohio Department of Education (Successful passage of the Para Pro Exam OR 48 semester hours or more from an accredited college or university must be completed.)
  • Current FBI & BCI background checks
  • Satisfactory drug screen results
Responsibilities:
  • Partner with teachers to support the delivery of high-quality, hands‑on curriculum related to literacy, mathematics, and STEM enrichment.
  • Maintain active supervision of students at all times, including during structured lessons, free play, meals, and restroom breaks, to guarantee physical and emotional safety.
  • Provide small‑group or individualized assistance to students who need extra help understanding activities or concepts.
  • Uphold and reinforce program behavior expectations and safety guidelines using positive behavior intervention strategies.
  • Support students with transitions throughout programming including ensuring safe transition at the end of programming towards transportation.
  • Collaborate closely with the Site Coordinator and instructional staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Remain flexible and adaptable to support additional site‑specific tasks as assigned by leadership to meet student needs.
  • Actively engage with students during recreational, social, and enrichment activities to foster a welcoming, energetic, and inclusive program culture.
  • Encourage student participation, curiosity, and motivation by serving as a positive role model/mentor.
