About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and organized Payroll Accountant to manage their payroll processing and related financial activities in Paarl . This role is essential for ensuring accurate and timely payment of salaries, wages, and benefits to all employees, while maintaining compliance with labor laws and tax regulations. You will be responsible for payroll reconciliations, managing payroll systems, and liaising with HR and finance departments.
This hybrid position offers a combination of remote flexibility and in-office collaboration, allowing for a balanced work approach. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of payroll principles and practices and exceptional attention to detail.
- Process and manage the entire payroll cycle for all employees accurately and on time.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant payroll tax laws, statutory deductions, and labor regulations.
- Perform payroll reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Maintain and update payroll records, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Generate payroll reports for management, finance, and HR departments.
- Liaise with external payroll providers, auditors, and tax authorities as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; relevant payroll certifications are a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing and accounting.
- Proficiency with payroll software and HRIS systems.
- Strong understanding of South African payroll regulations, tax laws, and labor legislation.
- Excellent numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage sensitive information confidentially and work effectively in a hybrid environment.
