Road Worker Supervisor; Special Line Marking Team): Construction and Specialised Maintenance

Minimum Requirements

Grade (equivalent or higher qualification); A minimum of 3 years semi-skilled manual experience; A valid (Code EC) driving licence with professional drivers permit (PDP).

Management of Road Marking Team during construction and maintenance of the Proclaimed Road Network Operating of various types of machinery and equipment;
Supervision and utilization of labourers to ensure effective management of subordinates;
Perform generic administrative functions pertaining to the post.

The following will be advantageous: Road Marking Machines;
Operating general minor and large construction machines;
Management and Supervision of staff;
Tar and gravelled road surfaces.

Good understanding of the following:
Safety precautions whilst operating
machinery and equipment;
Usage of small tools and equipment;
Operating of Lince Marking Machines, i.e. motorized and manual as well as general construction related machines Interpretation of basic civil drawings pertaining to Line Marking and determine quantities of goods and services;
Skills needed:
Supervisory;
Communication (verbal and written);
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
Ability to work in a team;
Self-motivated.

Nominated Candidate/s will be subjected to a medical fitness test as prescribed by the Construction Regulations, as contained in the OHS Act, /3

Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit copies of their documentation for verification purposes. These candidates will be required to complete a practical assessment and attend the interview on a date and time as determined by the department and may also be required to undergo competency assessments/proficiency test. The selection process will be guided by the EE targets of the employing department.
