About the Role
Our client is seeking a practical and organized Site Engineer to oversee construction activities on various projects based in and around Paarl. This role is essential for ensuring that construction work is carried out safely, efficiently, and according to design specifications and project plans. You will be responsible for managing on-site operations, coordinating with subcontractors, quality control, and ensuring project milestones are met.
This is a hands-on position for an engineer who thrives in a dynamic site environment and is keen to contribute to the successful delivery of construction projects in the scenic Cape Winelands, specifically within the Paarl region.
- Manage and supervise daily construction activities on site, ensuring work progresses according to schedule.
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications, providing guidance to construction crews.
- Conduct quality control checks and ensure adherence to safety regulations and building standards.
- Coordinate the work of subcontractors and suppliers to ensure efficient project flow.
- Prepare site reports, track progress, and identify potential issues or delays.
- Liaise with the project manager and design team regarding site conditions and any necessary modifications.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Site Engineer or in a similar construction management role.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and safety protocols.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with various site personnel.
