Construction Quantity Surveyor

Our client is seeking a professional and analytical Construction Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team in Paarl. This role is responsible for managing all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from initial calculations to final figures. You will ensure that projects are completed within budget by controlling costs and maintaining high-quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction economics, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to manage financial aspects of projects effectively, ensuring profitability and client satisfaction.

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents.
• Analyze tender submissions and award contracts to successful bidders.
• Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase, managing variations and claims.
• Conduct site visits to measure work done and verify progress claims from contractors.
• Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to achieve cost savings.
• Prepare financial reports and forecasts for project stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
• Proficiency in cost estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong understanding of contract law and procurement processes.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Professional registration with a relevant body (e.g., SACQSP) is preferred.
