Learning Designer - Education

Our client is seeking a creative and meticulous Learning Designer to join their innovative team in Paarl, focusing on Higher Education. This role is essential for transforming traditional course content into engaging, effective, and accessible online and blended learning experiences. You will work collaboratively with faculty members to conceptualize, design, and develop high-quality learning materials that leverage modern pedagogical approaches and technologies.

The ideal candidate is passionate about instructional design principles and committed to enhancing the student learning journey within the vibrant educational landscape of the Western Cape.

• Collaborate with faculty to design and develop engaging online and blended learning courses and modules.
• Apply instructional design theories and best practices to create effective learning experiences.
• Develop a variety of learning materials, including interactive content, assessments, multimedia elements, and facilitator guides.
• Utilize learning management systems (LMS) and other educational technologies to deliver and manage course content.
• Conduct needs analyses and evaluate the effectiveness of learning designs, making recommendations for improvement.

• A Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
• Proven experience in learning design or curriculum development, particularly in higher education settings.
• Proficiency with learning management systems (e.g., Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas) and e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate).
• Strong understanding of adult learning principles, pedagogical strategies, and assessment design.
• Excellent project management, communication, and collaboration skills.
