Senior Mechanical Engineer - HVAC Systems

About the Role

Our client seeks a skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer with expertise in HVAC systems to join their team in Paarl . This role is pivotal in designing, analyzing, and optimizing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for commercial and industrial facilities. You will lead design projects, conduct performance testing, and ensure systems meet energy efficiency standards and client requirements. The hybrid work structure allows for flexible engagement, combining essential on-site assessments and project coordination with remote analysis, design, and documentation, ensuring optimal environmental control solutions.

• Lead the design and development of complex HVAC systems, including load calculations, equipment selection, and ductwork/piping design.
• Conduct energy modeling and performance analysis to ensure systems meet efficiency targets and sustainability goals.
• Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of HVAC systems, providing technical support and troubleshooting expertise.
• Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and clients to ensure integrated and effective building services.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in mechanical engineering with a specialization in HVAC design and application.
• Proficiency with HVAC design software (e.g., Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Trane Trace).
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and building science principles.
• Excellent project management and communication skills, with experience in a client-facing role.
