About the Role
Our client is seeking an expert Telecoms Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer to enhance their wireless network capabilities in Paarl, Western Cape . This role is vital for optimizing the performance, coverage, and capacity of our client's mobile networks. You will be involved in RF planning, design, propagation modeling, and site deployment analysis, ensuring seamless connectivity and superior user experience. This position requires a deep technical understanding of RF principles and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a dynamic telecommunications environment.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, design, and optimize RF network coverage and capacity for 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G mobile networks.
- Perform RF site surveys, drive testing, and data analysis to identify coverage gaps and interference issues.
- Develop propagation models and conduct simulations to predict network performance.
- Recommend antenna types, equipment placement, and configuration settings to maximize RF efficiency.
- Troubleshoot RF-related network problems and implement solutions to improve signal quality and network performance.
- Collaborate with site acquisition teams and construction personnel to ensure timely deployment of new sites.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in RF engineering for mobile networks.
- Proficiency in RF planning tools such as Atoll, Planet, or TEMS Investigation.
- Strong understanding of radio propagation principles, antenna theory, and mobile network technologies (GSM, UMTS, LTE, ).
- Experience with RF optimization techniques and tools.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex RF data.
