Mechanical Drafter

Our client is looking for a meticulous Mechanical Drafter to join their engineering support team in Paarl, Western Cape . In this role, you will be responsible for translating engineering concepts and designs into precise technical drawings and schematics required for manufacturing and assembly. You will work closely with mechanical engineers, ensuring all documentation adheres to industry standards and project specifications.

• Create detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings, schematics, and layouts using CAD software.
• Ensure all drawings comply with company standards, industry regulations, and client specifications.
• Assist mechanical engineers in developing and revising design documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain organized drawing files, including revision control and version management.
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) based on design drawings.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and assembly teams to clarify drawing information and resolve any discrepancies.

• Diploma or relevant certification in Mechanical Drafting or a related technical field.
• 2+ years of experience as a Mechanical Drafter or CAD Technician.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and experience with 3D modeling software (e.g., Solid Works, Inventor).
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and terminology.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drafting work.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
