About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent and knowledgeable Cryptocurrency Compliance Officer to ensure adherence to all relevant regulations within their operations in Paarl . This role is critical for maintaining the company's legal and ethical standing in the rapidly evolving crypto and blockchain industry. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing compliance programs, including AML/KYC procedures, transaction monitoring, and regulatory reporting.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of financial regulations and a keen interest in digital assets, providing essential guidance to safeguard the company against compliance risks.
- Develop and implement comprehensive compliance programs for cryptocurrency-related activities.
- Ensure adherence to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations.
- Monitor transactions for suspicious activity and report as required by regulatory bodies.
- Stay updated on evolving blockchain and cryptocurrency regulations globally and locally.
- Conduct internal audits and risk assessments to identify potential compliance gaps.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance policies and procedures related to crypto assets.
- Proven experience in a compliance or legal role, preferably within the financial services or fintech sector.
- Strong understanding of AML, KYC, and other relevant financial regulations.
- Familiarity with cryptocurrency and blockchain technologies and their associated risks.
- Experience in developing and implementing compliance policies and procedures.
- Excellent analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CAMS) are a plus.
