About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly analytical and experienced Procurement Controller to oversee financial aspects of procurement operations in Paarl . This role demands a strong understanding of financial controls, budgeting, and cost analysis within the procurement function. You will be responsible for ensuring financial compliance, optimizing spend, and providing critical financial insights to the procurement and leadership teams. This is a key strategic role within the finance and operations departments, offering significant influence over the company's financial health related to its supply chain.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and manage the procurement budget, tracking expenditures and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Implement and maintain robust financial controls and processes within the procurement function.
- Conduct detailed cost analysis, variance reporting, and forecasting for procurement activities.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with accounts payable to ensure accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices.
- Provide financial reports and recommendations to senior management regarding procurement spend and efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CIMA or similar qualification is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in financial management, with a significant focus on procurement or supply chain finance.
- Strong understanding of financial modelling, budgeting, and cost accounting principles.
- Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
- Experience in the Western Cape region is an advantage.
