AI Platform Engineer

Our client is seeking a skilled AI Platform Engineer to join their growing AI & Emerging Technologies team in Paarl . You will be responsible for building, maintaining, and scaling the underlying infrastructure and platforms that power our AI and machine learning initiatives. This includes managing cloud resources, implementing robust data pipelines, and ensuring the availability and performance of AI development and deployment environments.

This hybrid role is perfect for an engineer who enjoys tackling complex infrastructure challenges and contributing to the foundational elements of advanced AI solutions.

• Design, implement, and manage scalable cloud-based infrastructure for AI/ML workloads.
• Develop and optimize data pipelines for efficient data ingestion, processing, and storage.
• Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems for AI platforms and services.
• Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to provide them with the tools and environments they need.
• Ensure the security, reliability, and performance of the AI infrastructure.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, Dev Ops, or cloud engineering.
• Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Understanding of machine learning concepts and workflows is a plus.
