Support Engineer

Our client is seeking to employ a Support Engineer to join their team based in Paarl, Western Cape.

• Degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of computer systems, networking principles, and IT infrastructure.
• Practical experience diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues.
• Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Knowledge of networking principles and infrastructure.
• Experience or exposure to Microsoft 365 administration, Azure and Intune.
• Knowledge of VMware and Hyper‑V environments.
• Understanding of IT security principles and best practices.
• Ability to evaluate technical solutions within business and budget constraints.
• Microsoft certification would be advantageous.
• Cisco, VMware, or other relevant industry certifications would be advantageous.

• Install, configure, maintain, and support hardware, software, and network systems.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and user-support issues.
• Respond promptly to technical support requests.
• Keep users informed of technical issues and resolution progress.
• Provide clear technical guidance and training to users where required.
• Document support activities, resolutions, and system changes accurately.
• Collaborate with IT team members to maintain reliable day-to-day operations.
• Perform system upgrades and assist with technical improvements.
• Maintain appropriate security standards across the IT environment.
• Complete assigned technical tasks while maintaining system stability.
• Troubleshoot routine technical issues and escalation complex matters when required.
• Perform scheduled maintenance to support reliable platform performance.
• Support Microsoft 365, Intune, Azure, VMware, and Hyper‑V environments.
• Take ownership of assigned technical tasks and initiatives through to completion.
• Identify and recommend improvements to IT support and implementation processes.
• Participate in knowledge‑sharing activities and contribute to team capability.
• Communicate technical information clearly and professionally to users, colleagues, and stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively to resolve technical concerns and develop practical solutions.
