Senior Network Engineer

About the Role Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Network Engineer to manage and enhance their robust network infrastructure in Paarl. This role is essential for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of the company's network operations. You will be involved in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex network environments, as well as mentoring junior team members. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in network architecture and a proactive approach to network management.

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-level network solutions, including LAN, WAN, and WLAN.
• Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions for optimization.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Configure and manage network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Develop and enforce network security policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with IT teams to plan and execute network upgrades and expansions.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Networking, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in network engineering and administration.
• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), and network security principles.
• Experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking hardware.
• Proficiency in network monitoring tools and performance analysis.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
