Our client is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee all procurement activities for their operations based in Paarl . This is a full-time, office-based position requiring strong leadership, strategic planning, and negotiation skills. You will be responsible for developing and implementing effective purchasing strategies, managing a team of buyers, and ensuring the cost-effective and timely acquisition of all necessary goods and services.
This pivotal role demands a deep understanding of supply chain management and a commitment to driving operational excellence and profitability through strategic sourcing, working closely with senior management to align procurement goals with company objectives.
- Develop and execute comprehensive purchasing strategies to align with business goals.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the purchasing team, fostering a culture of performance and development.
- Oversee supplier selection, negotiation of contracts, and management of key supplier relationships.
- Ensure cost-effective procurement of goods and services while maintaining high quality standards.
- Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and risk mitigation.
- Implement and enforce procurement policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and ethical practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in purchasing , with at least 3 years in a management capacity.
- Proven track record in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement management software.
