Readymix Plant Supervisor

Portland Group is seeking a Readymix Plant Superviso
rto join our Readymix division in Paarl, Western Cape
. The role reports to the Readymix Manager.

The successful candidate will ensure concrete quality, support customers on site, investigate incidents, and assist with plant operations in a fast-paced environment.

• Conduct slump tests and cube sampling as per procedures.
• Monitor concrete quality and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Investigate quality issues and provide solutions.
• Handle customer complaints, incidents, and non-conformances.
• Compile incident reports and recommend corrective actions.
• Liaise between customers, dispatch, plants, and QC teams.
• Support batching operations when required.
• Assist during peak production and staff shortages.
• Support QC and laboratory functions when needed.
• Coordinate major pours to ensure smooth execution.
• Maintain accurate site and testing records.
• Identify recurring issues and support continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and operational standards.
• Deliver strong customer service on behalf of Portland Group.
• Grade 12 (Matric).
• 3-5 years’ experience in Readymix, construction, or related industry.
• Knowledge of concrete technology, slump testing, and QC procedures.
• Batching experience advantageous.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Good problem-solving ability.
• Able to work independently and under pressure.
• Valid Code B driver’s licence.
• Willing to travel between sites.

This is a market-related salary position based on experience and qualifications. Employees join a provident fund after probation. Annual shutdown occurs over December/January. Working hours are 07:00-17:30 (Mon-Thu) and 07:00-15:00 (Fri). Overtime may be required.
