About the Role
Our client is seeking a passionate and skilled Research Scientist to contribute to their innovative Agricultural Science initiatives in Paarl . This role is central to developing sustainable farming practices and enhancing crop yields through cutting-edge research. You will conduct experiments, analyze data, and contribute to projects focused on plant breeding, soil science, pest management, or precision agriculture. Working within a dedicated agricultural research facility, you will collaborate with agronomists, plant breeders, and field technicians to translate scientific findings into practical solutions for farmers.

- Design and conduct field and laboratory experiments related to crop physiology, soil health, or pest management.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret agricultural data using statistical software and experimental design principles.
- Develop and test new farming techniques and technologies to improve crop productivity and sustainability.
- Collaborate with plant breeders to evaluate new crop varieties under different environmental conditions.
- Prepare technical reports, research publications, and presentations for scientific and industry audiences.
- Assist in the management of research trials and data collection protocols.
- Ph.D. in Agricultural Science, Agronomy, Plant Science, Soil Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant research experience in agricultural science or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of experimental design and statistical analysis relevant to agricultural research.
- Experience with crop physiology, plant breeding, soil science, or integrated pest management.
- Proficiency in relevant data analysis software (e.g., R, SAS, SPSS).
