Sales Marketing Manager

Top Outdoors is South Africa’s destination for rare, high-end and collectable knives, EDC and outdoor gear — built by the same team behind Topwatch. We retail from Paarl, run trade and auctions, and are official South African agents for Medford Knives.

We also own brands that are ready to move beyond our own store. The next chapter is distribution: dealers, stockists, B2B accounts and a much wider sales network.

We already have a store manager. This role is not day-to-day shop ops. It is growth.

Own sales and marketing. Drive revenue. Build the dealer and distribution network for our owned brands and agency lines. Make Top Outdoors known well beyond the people who already walk through the door or shop online.

• Grow wholesale, dealer and stockist accounts nationally (outdoor shops, gun shops, hunting outfitters, specialist retailers)
• Build and manage a sales pipeline: prospecting, presentations, negotiations, onboarding, follow-up
• Own the go-to-market plan for brands we represent and brands we own — positioning, pricing, packs, launches
• Plan and run marketing that actually sells: social, content, email, campaigns, events, Huntex-style shows, partnerships and community work
• Work with the store and e-commerce teams so retail, online and wholesale pull in the same direction
• Represent the brands with existing and new partners
• Track numbers: sales, conversion, dealer performance, campaign ROI — and act on them
• Travel as needed across South Africa to open and support accounts

• Proven sales and/or marketing experience — ideally outdoor, hunting, firearms, knives, optics, luxury retail or brand distribution
• Someone who can open doors, close deals and keep those accounts alive
• Comfortable selling premium product, not cheap volume
• Strong communicator; equally at home with a collector, a shop owner and a brand owner
• Hands-on marketer who can write, brief, post and measure
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel
• Based in or willing to work from Paarl / Cape Winelands
• Passion for knives, EDC or the outdoor world is a real advantage

• R15 000 basic per month + 10% commission on GP Generated
