Job Purpose:

The Area Manager is responsible for the operational management at all Security Branches including but not limited to the management of Management Systems, the Guard Forces including guards with K9, vehicles , fire-arms , equipment, the safety programs , the budgeting processes and budget control of all the branches, the generation of quotations, site evaluations, preparation for site deployment, the measurements and analyses of sites for improvement as well as the performance of personnel in general and on customer sites .

Kindly take note that this position is for both Paarl and Strand area.

Key Requirements:

A-Grade Registered (Updated)
Valid Driver's license
Matric (Grade 12)
Reside in the areas of Strand, Somerset West, Sir Lowry's Pass or Gordon's Bay area
Reside in the areas of Paarl, Wellington, Franschhoek, or Worcester.
Have a minimum of 5 years managerial experience in the security industry.
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Sound knowledge of security practices, laws, and regulations.
Ability to analyze data, assess risks, and make informed decisions.
Proficiency in using security technology and systems.
The ability to work under pressure
Confidence, drive and enthusiasm
Decision-making ability and a sense of responsibility
Planning and organizational skills
Experience using relevant technology and equipment
Experience in reporting and emergency response planning
Excellent knowledge of security protocols and procedures
Solid understanding of budgeting and statistical data analysis
Working knowledge of MS Office
Trained in Health and Safety
Trained in Retail Security

Operations management as well as proficiency In English and a good knowledge of current BCEA and labour legislation and other legislation relevant to the Security Industry

Negotiation and communication skills

No criminal record
No current disciplinary record passed 12 months

Duties and Responsibilities:

Operational Management:

Supervise and coordinate security teams across multiple locations within the designated area.
Implement and enforce security policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain a safe and secure environment.
Conduct regular site visits and other facilities to ensure compliance and address any security concerns.

Team Leadership and Development:

Recruit, train, and mentor security staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge for their roles.
Monitor team performance, conduct performance evaluations, and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
Foster a positive work culture that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and excellence in service delivery.

Client Relationship Management:

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their security needs and expectations.
Act as the primary point of contact for client communication and address any security-related issues or inquiries.
Collaborate with clients to develop and implement customized security solutions and strategies.

Risk Assessment and Mitigation:

Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits at sites and other locations to identify potential vulnerabilities and threats.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and emergency response plans.
Respond promptly to security incidents and emergencies, taking appropriate action to minimize risks and ensure safety.

Reporting and Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of security incidents, investigations, and resolutions.
Prepare and submit reports to management and clients regarding security performance, trends, and recommendations for improvement.
