Senior Frontend Engineer

Our client, a well-established e-commerce platform, is looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to join their talented team in Paarl, Western Cape
. This role is responsible for developing intuitive, responsive, and high-performance user interfaces for their web applications. You will work closely with UI/UX designers and backend engineers to translate concepts into visually appealing and functional user experiences. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, a keen eye for design, and a passion for creating seamless user journeys. This hybrid role allows for a balance of collaborative work at our client's modern Paarl offices and remote flexibility.

• Develop, test, and deploy high-quality, responsive user interfaces using modern front-end technologies.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers to implement pixel-perfect designs and ensure an excellent user experience.
• Work with backend developers to integrate front-end code with server-side logic via APIs.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented JavaScript, HTML, and CSS code.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Implement and advocate for front-end best practices and coding standards.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Troubleshoot and debug front-end issues, ensuring a smooth user experience.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging front-end technologies and trends.
• Contribute to architectural decisions for the front-end platform.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in front-end development.
• Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+).
• Strong experience with at least one modern JavaScript framework/library (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).
• Proficiency in using build tools (e.g., Webpack, Babel) and package managers (e.g., npm, yarn).
• Experience with state management libraries (e.g., Redux, Vuex).
• Understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility issues.
• Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Experience with accessibility standards (WCAG) is a plus.
