Backend Software Engineer

Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Backend Software Engineer to join their dynamic team in Paarl, Western Cape . • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of professional experience in backend development.
• Proficiency in at least one backend programming language such as Python (with frameworks like Django/Flask), Java (Spring Boot), Node.js (Express), or similar.
• Strong experience with database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
• Understanding of RESTful API design principles and best practices.
• Experience with version control systems (Git).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture is desirable.
