About the Role
Our client is seeking an organized and efficient Logistics Coordinator to manage and facilitate the smooth movement of goods within the Paarl region. This hands-on role is essential for coordinating daily transportation activities, managing inventory flow, and ensuring that all logistics operations meet company standards for timeliness and accuracy. You will work closely with drivers, warehouse staff, and external partners to resolve any logistical challenges and maintain optimal supply chain performance.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of local transportation networks and a commitment to operational excellence in a vital economic area.
- Coordinate the scheduling and dispatch of delivery vehicles to ensure timely pickups and drop-offs.
- Track shipments in transit, providing real-time updates and addressing any delays or issues promptly.
- Manage inventory levels and ensure accurate record-keeping of all stock movements.
- Liaise with suppliers, customers, and transportation providers to facilitate efficient logistics operations.
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and company safety policies within the Paarl region.
- Prepare reports on logistics activities, including delivery performance, costs, and inventory status.
- Proven experience as a Logistics Coordinator or in a similar role within the transportation or supply chain industry.
- Strong knowledge of local transportation routes and regulations in the Paarl area.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with various stakeholders.
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in logistics is advantageous.
