The Multi‑Purpose Clerk may be assigned to one of several departments within the store – including Center Store, Produce, Meat/Seafood, Bakery/Deli, or Janitorial. The Clerk promotes sales within the assigned department, answers customers’ questions, responds to product requests, and accurately places special orders. The Clerk practices safe food handling procedures, maintains a clean work area, and ensures the department remains orderly and free from safety hazards.

The Clerk receives, inspects, logs, and stocks products, rotates inventory, and merchandises items to maintain freshness and appeal.

• Center Store/Front End – Operate the check stand, memorize PLU codes, order, receive, unload, stock and rotate product on shelves and cases, merchandise product, and perform point‑of‑sale and inventory activities.
• Produce – Receive, inspect, and log produce; trim, wash, and wrap items; stock, rotate, and merchandise product; maintain the floral area; keep equipment clean.
• Meat/Seafood – Receive, inspect, and log products; weigh, wrap, package, and label items for display; stock, rotate, merchandize, and serve customers at the seafood counter; take special orders for custom cuts or holiday items; operate slicers and wrappers; keep equipment clean.
• Bakery/Deli – Receive, inspect, and log products; prepare, weigh, package, and label items for display; stock, rotate, and merchandise baked goods and deli products; take special orders for cakes and party trays; operate ovens, proofers, slicers, and mixers; keep equipment clean.
• Janitorial – Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the store; sweep and mop sales floor, back rooms, and refrigerated areas; clean restrooms, break rooms, office areas, shelving, and shopping carts; clean front of store and parking lot; empty trash; operate scrubbers and buffers as needed.
• Pharmacy – Operate the pharmacy register, take prescriptions, handle completed orders, maintain cleanliness, and maintain confidentiality at all times.

• Sweep and mop sales floor, front end, back rooms, and refrigerated areas.
• May operate forklift if authorized and certified.
• May operate baler if authorized.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Hiring pay range: $16.75 – $26.00 per hour.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Excellent customer service and communication (verbal and written) skills.
• Ability to work with a sense of urgency and self‑motivation.
• Capability to be proactive, enthusiastic, and flexible on the job.

High School Diploma (or GED) or additional job experience.

Six months of related experience.

Must be available to work a variety of required retail hours; must be at least 18 years of age.

Requires standing and other physical movements frequently; requires lifting up to 40 lbs. without assistance.
