Fiber optics litter the front lines in Ukraine. Radios are being replaced with tethered comms to defeat jammers. Flux is pioneering wireless laser datalinks powered by photonic circuits to ensure resilient tactical networks for America and her allies in defense of free and open society.

The Role

As a Photonics Engineer, you will join our device team in the San Francisco Bay Area, working closely with our process team to design and prototype nanophotonic devices, circuits, and systems at the frontier of optics. Candidates must have experience prototyping photonic integrated devices and circuits.

• Model, analyze, and design photonic components using FEA and FDTD tools.
• Develop, maintain, and employ Python libraries for pattern generation.
• Design, construct, and run experiments for characterizing and evaluating circuits and components.
• Automate test and measurement setups, including the statistical analysis and visualization of data.
• Coordinate with the process and systems teams to direct development and schedule experiments and integrations.
