Electrical Engineer

HDR is looking for an Electrical Engineer to design and oversee electrical systems for a wide range of building projects, from data centers to commercial environments.

• Lead electrical design through all project phases, producing construction documents, specifications, and engineering calculations.
• Coordinate with clients, project managers, architects, other engineering disciplines, contractors, and marketing members.
• Respond to RFIs, review shop drawings, and conduct site investigations.
• Provide construction administration support, including field observations and fieldwork verification.
• Track design budgets and perform load calculations.
• Assist in the selection of equipment using vendor software and communicate with sales representatives.
• Hold design meetings and collaborate with Electrical Engineers, EITs, and BIM specialists.
• Support construction operations and prepare field observation reports.

• Minimum 3 years of electrical building design experience (lighting, power, systems).
• Experience with an architectural or engineering consulting firm.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
• 3+ years of electrical design experience for buildings.
• Professional engineering license in the state of employment (e.g., PE, P.Eng).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office, SKM, AGI, and Easy Power.
