Communications​/Social Media Intern - Summer

• Create and edit engaging multimedia content, including graphics, videos, and social media reels that reflect the Marquette brand.
• Conduct interviews with vessel and shore-based employees to source authentic stories that showcase Marquette's people and culture.
• Support internal and external communications by generating content ideas and assisting with messaging.
• Leverage analytics to determine effectiveness and seek continuous improvement of communication and marketing initiatives.
• Assist with internal communications plan, including campaign themes, content calendar, and promotional strategies.
• Participates in planning and strategic brainstorming for communications projects and events.
• Assist with day-to-day communications tasks and special projects as needed.

• Currently seeking a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related fields.
• Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Tik Tok, Linked In, Facebook) and an interest in emerging digital trends.
• Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with attention to detail.
• Experience with design and video editing skills (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools) preferred.
• A self-starter who works well independently and takes initiative with minimal oversight.
• Creative thinker who is comfortable generating new ideas and trying innovative approaches.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with comfort engaging employees across departments and levels.
• Willingness and ability to travel and board vessels.

• Gain hands‑on experience in communications and marketing, from content creation to campaign planning.

This is a paid summer internship opportunity located onsite in Paducah, KY with internship dates ranging from June 1, 2027 to mid-August 2027.
