Children’s Minister or Director of Children’s Ministry Friendship Baptist Church

Overview

Friendship Baptist Church, in Paducah, Kentucky, is seeking a Part-Time (15 to 18 hours per week) Children’s Minister or Director of Children’s Ministry to lead children birth through grade five and their families. The primary objective of the Children’s Minister/Director of Children’s Ministry is to reach, serve, and strengthen children and families with the love and grace of Jesus Christ.

• Continue to develop a heart for God and a teachable spirit.
• Fulfill God’s calling as a servant within the body of Christ.
• Minister to the church and community by engaging in ministry with a servant’s heart.
• Serve as an effective member of the Ministry Leadership Team.

• Seek to lead children and their parents to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ through evangelism, discipleship, worship, prayer, ministry, and missions.
• Provide oversight and leadership for ongoing weekly activities, including Nursery, Sunday School, Sunday Evening Bible study, Wednesday Evening programs, and all other children activities.
• Plan and direct evangelistic opportunities for children and their families at least semi-annually.
• Recruit, develop, and equip adult volunteers to serve in the children’s ministry.
• Communicate effectively with parents and ministry volunteers.
• Develop annual ministry goals, budget, and calendar.
• Engage children and parents outside of church through school and community activities whenever possible.

• Passion for serving the Lord, children, and families.
• Ability to take both initiative and direction and to work enthusiastically as a ministry team member.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Three to five years of experience working with children in a ministry environment is preferred.
• College degree is preferred.
• Must be in agreement with the mission and strategy of Friendship to serve as the hands and feet of Jesus.
